I’M LAUREN WEINER, LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR AND FULL-TIME HUMAN.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of St. Thomas. When I didn’t find a job in my field, I completed an alternative certification program to teach high school, which wasn’t everything I thought it would be.
However, teaching developed a passion for young people in me that motivated me to earn my Masters of Education in Counseling at the University of Houston. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am able to more deeply impact students on a personal level.
Before starting my own practice, I’ve worked in high school and elementary school settings as a school counselor and at the college level as a success coach with a focus on transfer students. Working in the schools and collegiate settings has given me a unique perspective on the student journey from elementary to college and beyond – the excitement, the stress, the disappointments and everything in between.
My hope is to be a resource and support for young adults as they move through challenging transitions they face throughout their lives. I especially love working with high school students, college students, and young professionals.
When I’m not seeing clients, I’m trying to find the best lavender latte in Houston or snuggling with my adopted greyhound on the couch.
RETIRED RACER, CALMING PRESENCE, AND ALL-AROUND GOOD BOY.
Sawyer is a 5 year old greyhound who retired early to live his best life on the couch and in the therapy office. He loves greeting clients at the door with an exuberant tail wag and getting his ears scratched before laying on the floor for the remainder of the session.
Sawyer’s favorite activities include car rides, chewing the tags off of his toys, laying on the couch, and begging for table scraps.
